Can I get a fine for parking at a charging station?

If there is a sign on the parking space that says "reserved exclusively for charging electric vehicles" or something similar, you run the risk of getting a fine if your car is already fully charged/not charging.

If it's a parking garage or a private parking space, it depends on the specific rules that apply there.

Tesla imposes an idle fee at its Supercharger network.

Advice: Always pay close attention to the signs and make sure your car is actually charging at a charging station. Remove your car when it is fully charged. This way you can avoid a fine, be considerate to other EV users, and you don't have to worry about other conditions such as paid parking or maximum parking time.
